What you need to know about natural deodorants and their use:
Are you wondering about the ingredients that make up your daily skincare products and thinking about making the transition to more natural alternatives that are beneficial for your skin?
These days a wide range of brands offer a multitude of natural deodorants, so you won't run out of choices. Products of natural origin stand out as a healthier alternative when you know that most of the components of conventional deodorants and antiperspirants are composed of certain ingredients that are not completely harmless.
DEODORANT OR ANTIPERSPIRANT: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Sweating is a completely natural phenomenon that quite simply allows the body to regulate its temperature and also to eliminate toxins, but the odors released can also quickly become embarrassing and not pleasant at all.
Contrary to what one might think, these odors do not come from the sweat itself, they are created by the bacteria which appear on the surface of the skin of the armpits which break down the acids contained in the perspiration.
Unlike antiperspirants or antiperspirants, made up of aluminum salts which are designed to stop sweating, natural deodorants neutralize bad odors and eliminate the bacteria that cause them (they do not close the pores to retain sweating), simply thanks to the antibacterial agents, active ingredients, butters and vegetable oils and the perfumes used, either essential oils or cosmetic perfumes.

Do natural deodorants still provide enough odor protection for everyone? :
In most cases, deodorant will get rid of unpleasant smells during your days, but it must be said, if you suffer from excessive sweating, your natural deodorant will not work miracles. And it is also important to know that the transition to switching to natural deodorants for its effectiveness can take days, even weeks.
To maximize the effectiveness of your deodorant, always apply it to clean, dry skin. No need to apply several layers, one or two daily applications are enough depending on your daily activities.
And to avoid irritation, wait at least 12 to 24 hours after shaving or waxing to apply it again.
WHY OPT FOR A NATURAL DEODORANT?
For health: Even if antiperspirants stop bad odors, the aluminum salts and parabens contained in most antiperspirants can be the cause of breast cancer and other ingredients are also suspected to disrupt our hormonal system (endocrine disruptors). Although no causal link has been established to date, it is better to avoid its daily use. Thus some of them contain allergens, to be avoided especially if you have very sensitive or reactive skin, unless advised otherwise by your skin specialist.

(TO SEE MORE DETAILED IN ANOTHER POST)
Among the preferred ingredients:
Baking soda: neutralizes bad odors and minimizes humidity (without blocking natural perspiration).
Be careful, this ingredient can be irritating: if you have very sensitive skin, choose white clay for example instead.
Coconut oil: with its antifungal and antibacterial properties, coconut oil effectively fights the bacteria responsible for bad odours. Ingredient of choice for making natural deodorants.
Essential oils: several are the essential oils used for this purpose: Lavender, Palmarosa, Sage, Tea tree, Bergamot, Ho wood, Geranium etc… But be careful if your skin is very sensitive or reactive, since even natural, essential oils can be irritating and do not forget that we do not use certain essential oils in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Vegetable active ingredients and powders: clays, arrowroot starch and cornstarch to absorb moisture and bad odors. Hydrosols according to your skin type, to mention just a few examples.
Butters: Shea butter and mango to nourish the skin naturally.
